Zachary Barton began his business career at twelve years old with a single coke machine next to the local driving school. By 16 he was working at his family’s newspaper helping expand the newspaper circulation. Zach later attended the University of Texas, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Plan II Honors and graduated a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. After graduation, Zach founded La Prensa Libre, a Spanish-language newspaper, in Kyle, Texas. Eventually he left the newspaper business to follow his future wife, Carly, to West Texas where she studied and graduated with a Law degree from Texas Tech University. Zach and Carly later married in 2014 in Austin, Texas, at Carly’s childhood church.

Once in Lubbock, Zach got his start in the insurance business with Bankers Life and Casualty. After recognizing the financial strength of New York Life, Zach changed firms in 2013. After back to back qualifications for New York Life’s prestigious Executive Council* in 2014 and 2015, Zach was asked to join the leadership team where he served for two years. As a Partner, Zach recruited, taught, and lead a team of insurance agents and Registered Representatives.

In the fall of 2017, Zach and Carly decided it was time to return home to Central Texas. They now reside in a restored 1942 farm house on the original Barton family land that has been in the family since 1854.  Zach runs Barton Financial Group LLC and Carly works as a defense Attorney in Austin.

Zach holds the General Lines Life, Accident, and Health insurance license, as well as the series 6, 63, 7, and 65 FINRA financial licenses. Zach loves watching football, playing soccer, listening to live Texas Country music with his wife and family, and sampling the best Mexican food that Central Texas has to offer.
